This year, Hodges Elementary School earned an “Excellent” rating, and seven schools earned a “Good” rating, reflecting the district's continued steady progress.
“Our district continues to show outstanding growth and improvement, highlighted by the recent ratings that our schools received on the State Report Cards,” Superintendent Shane Goodwin stated. “As always, these ratings are a reflection of the hard work of our students, teachers, and staff. We look forward to continuing our efforts to improve all of our schools as we strive to make a positive impact in the lives of our children every day.”
Within District 50, the following schools received top ratings:
Excellent – Hodges Elementary
Good – Mays Elementary, Lakeview Elementary, Mathews, Merrywood, Woodfields, Brewer, and Westview
Additionally, Emerald High School and Greenwood High School both maintained an Average rating while showing notable gains in key performance areas.
The South Carolina School Report Cards provide a comprehensive overview of each school and district’s performance, based on multiple indicators, including academic achievement, student progress, progress of multilingual learners, school climate, college and career readiness, and graduation rate. These measures, approved by the SC Education Oversight Committee, provide families and communities with transparent information about school quality and growth.
